Killen Falls Elopement

Would you elope to a waterfall?

Holly and Ned did! And these photos by Sam Wyper are absolutely stunning, making all of us want to elope next to a waterfall 🙂

Killen Falls is in the Byron Bay hinterland- Tintenbar, to be precise. It is about a 330m walk from the carpark to the viewing platform at the top of the falls. If you want to go all the way down, it is a 1km round trip. High heels are NOT recommended- we all wore sneakers and then Holly went barefoot, and I put on my boots once there. There is a bit of navigating over river rocks but as you can see it’s totally worth it. And a bit of an adventure too!

Look at those happy faces 🙂

Adventure elopements are something I’m a little familiar with! Others have included hitching on horseback with Zephyr Horses. Skydiving on to the beach and saying I Do in Byron Bay. Saying ‘hell yeah’ in a hot air balloon at sunrise floating over lush green countryside. All of us diving into the aquamarine waters of Wategos beach after signing on the dotted line. And now, a waterfall elopement!
